Trying Something Different

Happy Thanksgiving!

Or, perhaps more accurately, Happy Day-After-Thanksgiving.

Why is it that so many people look forward more to today than they did to yesterday?  I’ve never understood why people wouldn’t want to just stay home after a big day like Thanksgiving (of course, the fact that I vehemently dislike shopping – unless it’s at Ikea or a hardware store – has nothing to do with that…).  Over the past few years, I’ve begun to feel the “crush” of Christmas shopping – that sensation of not being able to breathe when you realize that it’s less than a month until Christmas and you haven’t even found one gift yet. Or when your heart skips a beat when a friend says (in September) that she’s almost done Christmas shopping (ouch!).

This year I’ve decided I won’t get swallowed again.

What do you think?

I’ll also be giving gifts from Samaritan’s Purse and World Vision.

Join me – let’s be unreasonable this Christmas.  Let’s think of something other than ourselves.
