Security…(…is overrated)

13Nov09

I LOVE coming to Louisville, KY!  This weekend I’m attending the much-anticipated Global Missions Health Conference (www.medicalmissions.com) with two of my sisters and a whole bunch of other people.  We are having a BLAST!!!

Most of the Philly group arrived yesterday – 19 of us, 4 drove and 15 flew in (on 5 different flights!).  Three more arrived this morning.  The Lord has been so incredibly good – everybody made their flights (wow, amazing stories to go with that one!) and we are all learning a ton.  Last night’s speaker was powerful – he spoke about how we cannot possibly fulfill the great commission without making disciples of Jesus Christ – but that it’s impossible to make a disciple without first being a disciple.  A disciple is someone who will readily risk his or her life for the Gospel. Someone who’s willing to leave everything behind, someone whose love for family, friends, and – yes, even life – pales in comparison to his or her love for their Savior.  Super challenging.

I love that I’m here with friends. :-)  I am having way too much fun for my own good. ;-)  Pictures will hopefully be coming sometime early next week.
