October Wrap-Up

Wow, October?!!

(Original stuff here.)

  1. Zechariah and Malachi to finish off the OT, then Matthew, Mark, Luke, and started John.
  2. Ephesians 6:10-20 (well, began working on it, anyway – in Sunday School).
  3. Hoping to have at least one application done before I head to the big medical missions conference in 12 days. :-)  Pray!
  4. Got a few good books in this month, too. :-)  See another post for a recap on Three Cups of Tea (short response: read it).  Also read Don’t Let the Goats Eat the Loquat Trees – had a quotable or two (i.e. “Most people who become missionaries have an adventuresome streak in them, a fascination with the unknown, a readiness to undertake things they were not prepared to do. It’s good that they have, because very few missionaries know beforehand what they are actually getting into.”), but I totally did NOT agree with the author’s conclusion.  I will probably read the other two books in the series – medical missionaries in Nepal – but they won’t be at the top of the “to-read” stack.  The last one was bits and snatches of George Müeller: Man of Faith and Miracles. Biographies are always good.
  5. I’m not going to Colombia this year; Colombia is coming to me!  Pray for me – November 15 I will be translating during Sunday School for one of Tenth’s Colombia GO Partners.  It will be good to see “family” again!
  6. Ditto on last month.
  7. Going to the Global Missions Health Conference in 12 days!!!!  Woohoo!!!  http://www.medicalmissions.com
  8. Yup. :-)
  9. Programs and weddings.  For pay.
  10. Did fine.
  11. Since losing our puppy, Tivvy, a week ago, I haven’t had as much umph to get up and go, but I think I’m getting back in the groove.  Feel SO much better when I run…
  12. See the post below. :-)
